To benefit the It's All About the Kids® Foundation
It's All About the Kids® Foundation [IAATK] is proud to announce a new partnership with Pocket Socks to fight against childhood hunger. Pocket Socks are unique socks with hand-sewn zippered pockets. For each pair of socks sold, Pocket Socks donated a nutritious meal to IAATK and the Feed the Kids Food Pantry.
To kick off the campaign, Pocket Socks was featured on View Your Deals on ABC's The View on Monday morning, June 8, 2020. View Your Deals gives the nationwide audience access to top brands and goods at 50% off deals for 48 hours, or until items sell out. Socks usually range from $16 - $28 were on sale for $8 - $14. The sale stands out as Pocket Socks is giving back to the San Diego community.
Founder Evan Papel has partnered with IAATK since 2004. He joined IAATK co-founder Angela Brannon-Baptiste and a team of business leaders to create the first Life Skills Scavenger Hunt for homeless teens. He also hired teens in the charity's programs as interns. "It's an honor to partner with Angela [co-founder] and IAATK again," said Evan. "We have a huge platform and audience for this sale event and I am so pleased that we'll be able to raise awareness and funds necessary to help the flow of needed food coming to hungry kids here in San Diego."
Each week, IAATK provides tens of thousands of meals in bags of fresh produce, bread and non-perishable food to kids in San Diego. In April 2020, the charity surpassed 1,000,000 nutritious meals provided in just 32 months. They exceeded 2,000,000 in October 2020. Over 5,000 people receive the food each week. During the COVID-19 crisis, more than double the number of families are visiting the walk up food distribution each week.
