We currently have 16 students in college that we support. We provide them with cell phones, school supplies, books, and other financial needs throughout the year. We send CARE PACKAGES to our out of town students. The in-town students meet with mentors monthly.

Volunteers:
Call student weekly
Send emails weekly
Send care package or take to coffee or lunch
during twice a month
LISTEN
Discuss time management, money management, study habits, ect.
College Students:
Previously a resident or student at Toussaint Teen Center, or family is enrolled in a program at Christie's Place
Must be enrolled in college part or full time
Must have a 2.5 average or better
If student has a child, the student can not smoke, must be enrolled in WIC and must be attending parenting classes.
Program provides:
Cellular phones and montly calling plans
"Move-in" essentials for dorms and apartments, including a new queen sized bed from Sleeptrain
School supplies, bus/trolley passes, groceries
Additional materials and funding for throughout college

All of our students are doing GREAT!
One student is studying business at SDSU and set to graduated this semester.
Another student is studying drama at UCSC and also set to graduate in a few months.
One student is currently studying Italian and other subjects in Florence, Italy! She will be there until May and we can't wait to hear all about it when she returns.
