Difference for Success Program

Difference for Success is the newest program of It’s All about the Kids®. For 13 years, It’s All about the Kids® has provided unique programs and activities for homeless teens from the Toussaint Academy. Through hard work and dedication, we have helped them succeed!

We don’t want to stop now! As the Academy is closing to youth under 18, the 13 homeless teens are transitioning to other situations. They need our help!

We want to provide:
Luggage for their belongings
Luggage filled with items customized to each teen [pants, shirt, shoes, coat, underwear, socks, hygiene products, school supplies, flash drives, etc…]
Beds, bedding and household items
Our amazing Life Skills Program, college prep and additional activities to help them succeed
Please invest in our teens. We need your help!

We need Toys 2016!

Last year, It’s All About the Kids® transformed into Santa’s Workshop San Diego and the super elves [volunteers who collect toys] collected and distributed over 2200 toys! This is our 13th year providing awesome toys to our kids, so WE NEED YOUR HELP!

This year, we have to exceed that goal! We are helping two more charities this year too! So, we need your help!

1. Have a toy drive at your holiday party or place of work!

2. Collect toys within your family or with friends!

3. Volunteer to help us make Santa’s Workshop San Diego happen!

We like to take lots of photos of donors and toys and post then on our social media and website! We are so grateful to everyone who helps us make a difference this year!

Please contact us at events at itsallaboutthekids.org. We have an easy step by step process that includes artwork for posters, a playpen and more!

This year will are collecting non violent toys for:

Christie’s Place [all ages, gift cards for teens]
Eunime [all ages]
Serra Mesa Food Pantry [all ages, gift cards for teens]
Storefront [gift cards for teens]
Family Justice Center [all ages]
Second Chance Youth Program [gift cards for teens]
San Diego Rescue Mission [ all ages, gift cards for teens]
Takewing [ages birth to 7]
Santa Caus – [all ages]. Santa Caus will then distribute to orphanages in Baja Mexico

Last year, San Diego Charger Keenan Allen and Legoland invited over 50 of our kids to receive toys and enjoy an amazing day at Legoland!

center for car donations logo

Do you have a car, truck, trailer or boat that you don’t need? Want to make a difference in the lives of thousands of children by donating it? It’s All About the Kids® has teamed up with the Center for Car Donations!

How to Donate a car in 3 steps.

1. You can donate online by CLICKING HERE or call our representative at 877-411-3662.
Center for Car Donations will take all your information, including the charity you would like the proceeds sent to.

2. You will receive a call within 24 business hours from one of their nationwide auctions to schedule a convenient appointment to pick up your vehicle, at your home, office or repair shop.
Your car does not have to be running to qualify, however it must have an engine and be tow-able.
When their driver comes to pick up your car, you will give the driver your signed title and he will give you a tow receipt.
If you have lost your title, in some states, they can take the vehicle with a duplicate title, but please call them to get more details.

3. Once the vehicle sells, they will send you a thank you letter and tax form.
The proceeds will benefit your favorite charity…It’s All About the Kids® !
They can accept boats, RV’s and special equipment if it is running and on a case-by-case basis.
Yes, it really is that easy!

Because of all the amazing staff and happy experiences I have had there I am writing this testimonial for both the University club and the amazing Angela Brannon-Baptiste who does so much for charities, to help kids, and to bring San Diegans together for great out of the box events for a great cause.

I totally support both organizations and highly recommend anyone to join the U Club and support Angela and It’s All About the Kids®.”

Help us send Stephanie to China!

Help us send Stephanie to China!

Today, It’s All About the Kids received this letter from Stephanie Muñoz. Stephanie has been a stellar student and participated in It’s All about the Kids programs for the last 7 years. She has been in our college program, Difference for a Week, for her entire college career, and she has excelled. We are so proud of her! Now, she has an opportunity to teach English in China…and she needs help to buy her airplane ticket!

Please help us send her to China for a year to teach English.

Donate $25, $100..whatever you can ! Donate at www.itsallaboutthekids.org/donate
Here is her letter….

My name is Stephanie Muñoz, a recent graduate from the University of California, Merced. I am 22 years old from San Diego, California. In May of 2015, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Spanish. I am a first generation student not only to graduate High School, but I’ve made my family really proud by earning a four year degree from the University of California system. Graduating college was always one of my biggest dreams, and it feels so good to say I’ve finally crossed that off my list.

I am a former graduate from Toussaint Academy San Diego (TASD), a program for homeless youth at risk. I resided at TASD for four years previous to coming to college. The program was my biggest support system throughout my high school years. I was always encouraged to strive to be someone successful in life by providing me with the necessary life skills that I needed to survive out in the real world. Not having the support from my immediate family allowed me to let in a new family that provided me with all the love, support and encouragement I needed to continue to believe that I can be someone great in life.

In high school I was always involved and an active member of my community. I continued stay involved throughout my four years of college I’ve had the privilege to hold several leadership positions that have allowed me to work with diverse groups of students and make long lasting relationships, not to mention great connections. One of my favorite positions I genuinely enjoyed was being a Success Mentor. This position allowed me to serve and guide first year student’s transition from high school to college serving the students as a main resource to help adapt to a new lifestyle and community. I saw this opportunity to give back and help incoming first year students have a great experience, as I was guided by a mentor my first year of college as well.

I really made sure to have a great experience at UC Merced by taking all the opportunities that were offered to me and always going for the things that I wanted. I’m always looking for opportunities for me to grow and become a successful person. Recently, I was offered an extraordinary position to go to China for a year through Ameson Education & Cultural Exchange Foundation to teach English to elementary level students. I’m immensely excited for this new opportunity. It’s such a great transition and new chapter of my life that it feels almost surreal. I’m reaching out to It’s All About The Kids Foundation [IAATKF] to help me get to China by financially assisting me in buying my airplane ticket, it’s something that I’m struggling with at the moment and that would take big weight off my shoulders. I am a motivated person that has faced many obstacles in life, but my past doesn’t define the person who I am and becoming. I ask you for your generosity and financial assistance. I will appreciate any help I can get from the bottom of my heart. I will make sure I make the best out of this experience and I’m excited to share my experience and time in China with IAATKF.

Thank you so much in advance.

Stephanie Muñoz
